Frequently Asked Question

Send Device Switch Message - Text Quick Link (Athena Integrated Clients)
Last Updated about a month ago

The Send Device Switch Message option allows offices to send a URL with a login code to a respondent via email or text. The respondent recipient follows the link to immediately log in without requiring a username and password; no credentials are needed. This will allow office staff to quickly assist respondents in accessing their questionnaires to complete them, even if they are at home.

CRITICAL: This feature sends a link so that credentials are not needed. Please VERIFY EMAIL AND/OR MOBILE NUMBER and ENTER CORRECTLY as anyone who receives the link will have access to that account and the questionnaires. The recipient has 15 minutes to use the link in the text. After that, the link expires, and the office will need to send a new one.

1. On your computer, go into the patient’s record in Athena and click the CHADIS button to take you to the patient’s CHADIS chart.

2. Scroll down to ‘Respondents’ and click on the respondent with incomplete questionnaires (the number of incomplete questionnaires appears in green to the left of the respondent name). *If the respondent does not exist, click the plus sign in the top right corner to add them to CHADIS first, then continue on to step 3.

5. Respondents must be able to use the link within 15 minutes or the link will expire, and they will need to request a new one. ‘Send Device Switch Message’ is to be used when there is a barrier between the front desk and patients or the QR code on the computer screen cannot be scanned. This feature will allow you to send the respondent a link to take questionnaires without using credentials. Therefore, it is CRITICAL to verify the email address and/or mobile number with the respondent prior to sending the link. This link must be accessed within 15 minutes; it will expire after 15 minutes.
